  • Rev Enda Glynn (Ireland) shares a light moment with team-mate Des Houlihan.
  • Dinner, Friday evening, before the first two matches commence. 1hr and 50mins was allotted as playing time for each 14 board stanza.
  • Bob Pattinson with wife Maureen.
  • Gordon Lessells, an expatriate Scot who settled in Limerick approx. 28 years ago and who together with partner Des Houlihan will respresent Ireland in the 2008 Seniors European Team in Pau. Gordon is seen here with NPC Michael O'Connor.
  • Liz Taffe with life partner Michael MacDonagh.

  • Michael and Flora O'Kane, one half of the Northern Ireland team. As the team consisted of only two pairs an undue strain was placed on the Northen Ireland team. One can only guess that if a third pair had travelled that Northen Ireland might have improved their overall final ranking.
  • Jeff and Sandie Millership who together with Michael and Flora O'Kane represenetd Northern Ireland. This shot features a worried Jeff and not so-worried Sandie prior to scoring a particular match!!! See next photo for post-match scoring look!
  • The results from the other table brought a smile to Jeff's face. Looks like Sandie was confident all along!
  • John Williams, NPC, England shown here with Match Manager, Sandara Claridge. Sandra was the epitome of EBU efficiency in bringing the inaugural Seniors Home Internationals to a highly successful conclusion.
  • Roland Bolton, Tournament Director, who did a superb job which he executed with aplomb and charm. Perhaps his most taxing moment arose when he was required to deliver a ruling where an Irish player simultaneously exposed THREE cards (H. AQ10) when Gunnar Hallberg was declaring 3NT for England.
  • Patrick Jourdain with partner Mike Tedd and team-mate Jim Luck representing Wales.

  • Peter Hand, (NPC, Wales) with wife Jean
  • Victor Silverstone of the Sponsor's (Bernard Teltscher) team and Linda Silverstone.
  • The debonair and eternally youthful Tony Priday with fellow Sponsor's team-mate Chris Dixon.
  • Rob Sheehan (Sponsor's team)) and Mrs. Silverstone.
  • Bernard Teltscher, Sponsor and PC of his own team!
  • Colin Simpson and Bernard Teltscher (Capt) of the Sponsor's team.
