  • Friday, circa 13.00: My photography of the CIC got off to a poor start when I suddenly realised that photos that I had shot at Portumna Bridge and in Victoria (Meelick) Lock were not recorded because I had not placed an SD card in the camera. And yes, the Nikon D7000 DOES allow you to shoot photos with no storage card in the camera. Grrrr!!!
  • So, while Scappare pushed on to catch up with Rapport, This Way Up and Trade Winds. meanwhile, Arthur, Celtic Princess, Dom Perignon and Galemo pulled into Banagher for a short lunch break before re-commecning their journey to Ballinsaloe.

  • Saturday Morning: 'Sean Og' of Dubarry's provides a taxi service to the Factory Shop for Patricia & Shay (This Way Up). Dubarry's offered a shuttle service to and from the factory shop for Cruising Club members throughout the weekend. A great facility and a wonderful service!

  • Saturday Afternoon: Most CIC members took part in a 'Treasure Hunt' of Ballinasloe Town. Participants were provided with a colour map and rhyming couplet clues for 21 'Treasures' of Ballinasloe Town. Here John Ryan can be seen completing his answer sheet. Winners, Aidan & Brenda Kennedy, were presented with a voucher for dinner in the Carlton Shearwater Hotel. And Maria Keane was presented with a prize for 'First across the finish line'!
