And Polish beer to boot!

  • If Michael Bourke at Albert Lock can paint his car with the slogan 'We are nice people' then I reckon that Trade Winds can do the same on her bow! One of the nicest couples that you will ever meet, on or off the water! They had prepared a lovely lunch which included some of Rita's home-baking. We then took our leave and headed south while they headed upriver.
  • Once again, "Arthur" is on familiar cruising grounds.
  • Oh, how we love cruising on the Shannon.
  • Shannonbridge ahead....
  • The bridge at Shannonbridge with the Old Fort on the right-hand side of the photo. We have enjoyed some very good meals in the Old Fort restaurant.
  • Birling passes us at Shannonbridge.
  • Repair work still ongoing at the Bord-na-Mona bridge at Shannonbridge.
  • We arrived at Silverline in Banagher circa 17.30hrs. Perused the new CH Marine stand in SilverlIne's reception area...and found a couple items. A nice addition.
  • Rory Winston, Commodore Lough Derg Rally 2011.. Rory was getting ready for the rally which was due to start the following day.
  • Rory with his sister Nessa.
  • Rory packing away some liquid assets for the comng week!
  • Commodore's boat for the 2011 Lough Derg Rally...was poor old Highlander put to bed for the week?
  • And Polish beer to boot!
  • On the second last leg...Banagher to Victoria Lock (Meelick)
  • Evening descends....
  • In the lock we are joined by Rory Winston, Commodore Lough Derg Rally 2011 and his sister Nessa who are headed to Portumna for the start of the rally.
  • Heading towards Portumna...
  • On the last leg of the trip...
  • Trying to capture the sunset...
  • What fabulous colours...
