In Albert Lock...

  • Tuesday, 5th July, 2011...circa 11.45. Arthur departs Lough Key on the start of the return leg to Portumna. It was a short stay in Lough Key...we will be back for a longer stay at some time in the not too distant future. We have to be in Portumna by Friday evening for a meeting scheduled for 7.30pm. We are planning to stop off in Athlone for a couple of nights, includng a trip to The Wineport Lodge for a 'Champage Dinner for two' courtesy of a voucher from the IWN re the Wineport Winning Shot competition... ;-)

  • As subseuqent photos taken in Albert Lock will confirm, today is Ladies Day at the Locks! Here is Vera Lynch at Albert Lock stepping into hubbies shoes... Padraig was away on a course,,,as was Michael Bourke at Albert Lock.
  • And Vera was assisted by her daughter Regina.

  • Approaching Carrick-on-Shannon...
  • Carrick-on-Shannon. Public mooring in front of the Landmark Hotel were full! And this was Tuesday! We made a brief stop to get some provisions and then continued on our way towards Dromod.
  • We depart Carrick and head for the Jamestown Canal...
