Weather is good...little or no wind and no dark clouds overhead.

  • Saturday, 11th June, 2011...circa 12.48. We have just come through Portumna Bridge and are headed to Dromaan for a light lunch. And then it is back to Portumna. The weather forecast for Sunday is not good!
  • Weather is good...little or no wind and no dark clouds overhead.
  • Hardly a ripple on the water...
  • Heading towards Dromaan...
  • Mary at the helm while I take a few photos...
  • And Mary takes a photo...
  • 'Down on Derg'...
  • We made contact with John Kinsell (SV Breakaway) who is going to meet us in Dromaan.... in fact he is already there when we arrive circa 14.30 after a lesiuerly passage from Portumna.
  • There are several mobos moored up...
  • And quite a few yachts...
  • John demonstrates his recently acquired tool which we used to loosen the over-tightened cap on one of my weed filters! Thanks John...
  • We enjoyed a light lunch of smoked salmon and pate prepared by Mary....washed down with a glass (or was it two!) of Fiano.
  • We departed Dromaan circa 15.30 to make the 17.30 bridge opening.

  • Cirrus, a regular traveller on the lower Shannon, comes through Portumna Bridge.
