Looking northwards from Garrykennedy....not a ripple in sight!

  • And the water is still ripple free...
  • Mary spotted this unusual display of angled light on the water. A shaft of light seems to hit the water in the distance and then appears to shoot across the water towards Arthur's bow. Or is it an optical illusion?

  • Looking back up the lake...
  • Approaching Williamstown...
  • Circa 13.50...Passing Williamstown...
  • Looking ahead toward Garrykennedy which is almost hidden by the fog...
  • Saturday morning, circa 09.10...a sleepy Garrykennedy marina
  • Looking northwards from Garrykennedy....not a ripple in sight!
  • "Arthur" prepares to depart Garrykennedy.
  • John Kinsella (SV Breakway) drops in for a cup of coffee before "Arthur" heads for the noon opening at Portumna Bridge.
  • circa 10.10..."Arthur" leaves Garrykennedy in her wake...
  • We did not quite have the water to ourselves...although we did not encounter any other pleasure craft between Garrykennedy and Portumna!
  • Looking back down Lough Derg. Another lovely weekend on the water coming to an end...

  • Nearly there! Looking back down towards 'The Goalposts' at the top of Lough Derg.
  • The reeds are coming back...and yet here they look dull. Perhaps it was the light because the next shot, of reeds further back, tell a different story!
  • Yes, lovely golden coloured reeds, on the same stretch of navigation as those featured in the previous photo....but these reflect a lovely vibrant golden colour!
  • Portumna Bridge...with five minutes to spare.<br /> <br /> It was nice to get out on the water again after being laid-up for the previous ten days.<br /> <br /> Spring is definitely coming...
