  • A weather check confirms Force 5 with gust of Force 7 on Lough Derg so we head for Banagher.
  • Weather seems choppy on the river. Cannot but imagine what it must be like on Derg!

  • We rang ahead to Victoria Lock to let them know of our impending arrival. And the lock gate was open when we arrived.
  • Damien, standing in for Stephen who was enjoying a day off, was there to greet us.

  • On a hunt for water! "Arthur" in the public harbour at Banagher. But no water avaialble anywhere! Not in the public harbour, not at CarrickCraft, nor at Silverline!
  • But we met Donal Boland of 'James & Mary' who offered water should we need it. And that's Mr Pugs in his arms!
  • And Mary cooked a corker of a dinner that evening! Scallops, Black Pudding, Pancetta with a Puree of Cauliflower. All washed down with a bottle of Woolaston Pinot Gris, 2005.
