  • 08.16. Brandon Head in the distance. And we are on target for arrival at Fenit circa 11.00.

  • 09.22....In the distance....The Seven Hogs / Magharee Islands guarding the entrance to Tralee Bay.
  • Brandon Head, circa 09.30. We have been on the go for approximately four hours. Glad that we are not continuing on to Kilrush.

  • A lobster pot marker...lobster pot spotting is undoubtedly one of the more demanding tasks when doing coastal cruising. It requires total concentration and in heavy seas it can become virtually impossible to spot them before you are on top of them! At least a relatively calm sea state makes it easier to locate them. And of course, if travelling in company, you must relay the approximate location to your fellow travellers!
  • Besie stops for a photo-shoot in Tralee Bay! Between the two cruisers we shot a total of 50 photos of "Arthur" and Besie before heading into Fenit. The very calm conditions made it impossible to get good action shots. We remedied that when we left Fenit several days later!

  • 11.12...we arrive in Fenit and we are allocated berths by John.
  • 'Robert Hywel Jones Williams' - the Fenit RNLI Trent Class all-weather Lifeboat. When we arrived we discovered that the annual Fenit RNLI Open day was in progress!

  • circa 16.00...the 138m x 21m Beluga Faith cargo ship arrives in Fent and is assisted by the Foynes based tug Celtic Rebel.
