  • 'Arthur' set-off from Portumna circa 15.45 bound for an overnight stop at Banagher and a visit to a local hostelry to view Connacht v Toulon in a semi-final of the 2010 Amlin Cup. Sadly, Toulon won. <br /> <br /> In Victoria (Meelick) Lock we encountered one of Stephen's faithful friends...'Prince'.

  • 'This Way Up' in Athlone Lock, a Leinster Rugby flag flying proudly from the stern....the lull before the storm!. Shay casts an eye over the eight-strong, all-female crew, on the rental cruiser behind him in the lock. It was the FOURTH, all-female crewed hire boat that we encountered over the weekend!
